Trip to Northern CA

We are so glad Papa moved to Utah! He is always available for our health care needs!
Scott got the amazing opportunity to travel to Hiroshima, Japan for work for two weeks last summer. He was so torn about whether or not to go because he knew he would miss the kids and I so much. I'm so glad he went and he had a wonderful experience there. This was around the time that Dad & Lei moved to Utah, which was the best thing ever! The kids absolutely adore Papa & Grandma Lei and we are so lucky to have them close by. Well, while Scott was in Japan my dad needed to make a trip back to Northern CA to tie up some loose ends and get their house ready to sell. My dad so graciously offered to take the kids and I with him. It is about a 14-16 hour drive so I told me dad he might get more than he bargained for, but we decided to go and it was the best trip ever! The drive was long, but the kids did so good. We did the trip in two days, which made it a lot better. We were so lucky because my cousin, Lizzie, and her kids were in Northern Ca at the same time we were. It was so amazing spending time with them along with my two aunts and uncle. We did so many fun things. We went berry picking, took a trip to Monterey, went to the Boardwalk, had lovely dinners, visited with family and went to the beach a ton. My Aunt Lise took us stand up paddle boarding and Lucy is a natural born water baby. She loved grabbing the kelp and made a dress out of it. She loved the beach and still talks about it to this day. Eli was much more reserved when it came to the water, but by the end of the trip he warmed up to it. It was such a memorable trip and I am so grateful we were able to go.
