Eli is 6 Months Old

Our little Eli is 6 months old. The time has gone by so fast. So fast that I didn't even post Eli's 4 month post. But, at 6 months he is almost sitting up and just starting to eat solids. He loves them, anything and everything! He actually grabs the spoon and shoves it in his mouth! It doesn't matter what it is, peas or bananas, he loves it. He is still nursing great and I love those quiet moments with my little boy, although he has become especially squirmy lately. He is such a sweet baby. He loves smiling and laughing, we describe him as jolly..lol. He went through a rough patch with sleeping, but now we're back on track. He takes two naps and sleeps about 8 straight hours through the night. He is 15 lbs (14%), 27.75 inches long (70%) and his head 16.7 inches (22%) around. So, he is pretty much like Lucy, tall & thin, but not as extreme. Lucy is also doing great, but she has definitely come into her own. She is a wild child. She is very precocious and sassy, as always. She is talking up a storm and we just crack up over the things she says. Her favorite songs are 'call me maybe' & 'rumor has it'. She knows the words and loves dancing. She is still a daddy's girl, but she loves me too. She is still a skinny little thing. We struggle because we want her to eat, but she isn't  a big eater. She loves fruits and veggies the most and still drinks a lot of milk. We just love the relationship between our two kiddos. It is truly amazing to see how much they love each other. Although Eli is only a baby, you can see that he adores Lucy. She makes him laugh, lays on him, rolls him & holds him. She also likes to feed him baby food. Lucy refers to him as 'my baby Eli'. It is too cute. She is also going through a 'wanting to be a baby' phase. She'll put on a bib & lay under Eli's playmate. She wants to sit in his bouncy chair and high chair. She has also adopted a binky again. She was never fond of a binky when she was a baby, but now that Eli has one she is all about it. She insists that they are for her baby, but we catch her sucking on them & have to reprimand her constantly. She actually takes Eli's binky constantly & it got so hard because she would lose them so we broke down & gave her few for her baby. She named them. She calls them her 'quesadilla'. We have no idea where that came from, but we think it is hilarious.  Below are some funny/cute things she has said lately. We are amazed by the love that exists in our little family, truly the greatest gift ever.

Lucy called me from her crib. When I came in she held up her cup & said, "Mommy, can you get me some more milky milky?".

Lucy tells Scott, "Daddy, I miss you when you're at basketball."

We hear Eli crying from downstairs. Lucy says, "I'll get him" & runs upstairs.

Lucy is in her crib and we are in the spare room. Scott sneezes & Lucy yells from her crib, "Daddy, you okay??". And she keeps saying it until Scott yells, "yes!".

When she sits in time out she'll say, "I'm done crying now" so she can get up.

Halloween

Halloween is SO incredibly fun with kids. I have been sort of a Halloween grinch in the past, but this year was so fun. We carved pumpkins, went to a trick or treat event at the zoo & had a blast trick or treating around our neighborhood. Lucy absolutely loved it! She kept asking for "more doors". She just wanted to keep going. She lasted longer than older kids, but that is so her personality. She is a little ball of fire and knows what she wants. When she went up to the doors she would say trick or treat & thank you & would pick her treat very carefully. Most of the time she would try to go in the house, she is such a social little girl. When we got home with her big pail of candy, we put it on the porch and went inside. The 'halloween fairy' picked it up, rang the doorbell and left her a special toy. It was a little karaoke toy and she loved it. When anyone asks her where she got the toy she says "ding dong" because she heard the doorbell and it was on the porch. She is so fun. We ate all her candy after she went to bed...lol. I think that will be funny to tell her when she's older. Eli was just along for the ride and was his good natured little self. We love celebrating holidays with these kiddos. They add so much magic, joy & laughter to our lives.

Goodbye Summer....and Fall

We had such a fun summer. We ended our summer attending Scott's work party at a local water park. They rented out the whole park & it was tons of fun. Lucy had a blast. She loved the trampoline thing, she is fearless! Eli liked the water too. There was one water slide that Lucy & I must have rid like 20 times! Fall has come & gone...unfortunately. It was beautiful...while it lasted. We had a visit from Papa & Grandma Lei & that was SO fun, as usual. They spoil us and the kids just adore them. We will miss the fun summer we had...until next year!

Baby Shower

My good friend, Kendra, had her baby girl, Shirley, last week! She has a son Lucy's age and we love getting them together to play. Below are pictures from a shower her sister & I threw. Everything came out so cute & she got so many adorable things for Shirley. We are so excited to meet this baby girl.
