I can't believe our little baby girl is 1! The time just flew by. Lucy has brought so much love and meaning into our lives. She has such a sassy and fun personality. She loves to smile and give everyone 'cheesers'. She took her first step on Mother's Day and she began taking multiple steps the day before her birthday. She is almost totally a walker, she can walk pretty far but will occasionally fall on her bottom. She is still tall & thin weighing 17.2 lbs (3%) and her height is 30.25 inches (85%). Her head is still small at 1%. We're trying our best to fatten this girl up but I think she's destined to be tiny. She loves to drink milk and chugs it with her head back. Her favorite foods are grapes, cucumbers, strawberries, yogurt, cheerios and lunch meat. When she's done eating she signs 'all done' and sometimes will say it too. We also know she's done because she picks up every remaining food item and meticulously tosses them off her tray! She can be a turkey! She also has discovered pointing and points at everything. She has recently picked up 'uh-oh' and it is the cutest thing ever. Lucy jibber jabbers all day long. She says 'Dada', 'Mama' and 'kitty' so far that we can actually make out. Lucy has such a sweet and happy demeanor. She is the light of our lives and we are so lucky to be her parents!
It took 10 years but I finally graduated from College!! I now have my BS in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. It has been a long road, but I'm very proud that I was able to finish. I had a lot of help from my husband by always supporting me and my Mom by pushing me to reach my goals. My awesome family came from California along with my best friend, Steph, to support me as well as Scott's great family. I love and cherish the wonderful people in my life!
Since Lucy's birthday was a couple weeks after my Graduation we decided to have a joint party. We had lots of friends and family there and it was a blast! Our great sister-in-law, Rachael, made Lucy's adorable cake. At first, Lucy was timid with her it, but after a few minutes (Mommy & Daddy had to help a little) she went crazy for it! She even gave it a big hug. Lucy got a lot of great gifts and she loved opening them surrounded by all the people she loves. It was definitely one of my favorite days.
My Birthday was AWESOME this year! Scott threw me a surprise party, I was surprised to say the least! He planned everything so meticulously and I'm so grateful for such a thoughtful husband. The cake had my face on it which was a first for me! I got so many gifts and well wishes, I was so spoiled this year. I know that a lot of my friends and family helped plan this party so THANK YOU all, I love you guys!!
On the Saturday after my surprise party we were able to attend Mike and Tammy's Wedding. It was up the mountain at Alta and it was so much fun. We had to take this big snow cat up and it was really bumpy. The ceremony was beautiful and it was so perfect for them. I feel lucky to have met this amazing family.
Lucy has changed so much this past month. She is standing up, walking along furniture and climbing all over stuff. She has really become such a handful! She is nursing two times a day and drinking whole milk in a sippy. She loves lunch meat, cucumbers and yogurt. She pretty much likes anything she can feed to herself. She has four teeth and is in the process of cutting two more. She loves playing with anything she's not supposed to and she loves to test us. She'll crawl over towards the stairs then look back to see if we're coming after her. She is very mischievous. For some reason she loves paper and eating it, we have to watch her closely. She has such a good sense of humor and she loves to laugh. For the most part she is pretty easy going and happy. She is sleeping really great through the night and taking two naps a day. This little girl is so fun we just love her to pieces.
Lucy is obsessed with other kids. She loves following them around and actually climbing on them. Lucy loves her Daddy so much, when she hears the garage door open she gets so excited. She loves playing with him and she is the apple of his eye. She loves this toy. The first day we got it she needed a little help pushing it, a few days later she had mastered it. She makes such a mess eating that we have to take her from her chair to the bathtub!
My great friend KATIE from Emma Wade Photography took these pictures for us. She is amazing and I LOVE how they turned out. I just adore the pictures of Lucy & Scott. You can just see the love between them. THANK YOU Katie!!
Lucy is such a little sweetheart. She loves to snuggle and give kisses, of course we just love it too! She is doing great on her new eating regimen. She loves her sippy cup with milk and she'll actually guzzle it now. She's eating all kinds of things, basically whatever we eat along with yogurt. A good box of crackers can keep her entertained for hours, which is helpful when I want to shop! She loves dancing and clapping. Whenever she hears music she bounces to the rhythm. She has discovered how to wave and how to move her arms back and forth. She is crawling all over the place. The stairs are her favorite if she can get there before I grab her. She is standing up on everything and getting sturdier by the second. On any normal morning you can find her standing at her toy basket taking out all her toys. She loves when we 'get her'. We crawl towards her and she goes crazy, it might be the cutest thing ever. She is a very good sleeper, she takes two good naps a day and sleeps 12 hours a night. This little girl brings a smile to our face every time we look at her!
